Longest flight in the world: – means that how long can an airplane fly. The longest flight distance covered is 9031 miles(14,535 kilometers) on Monday, February 7, 2017.
A new record has claimed by Qatar airways, for the longest flight distance travel.
A Boeing 777 departed from Doha, Qatar on Sunday and landed in Auckland, New Zealand on Monday after flying 9,031 miles (14,535 kilometers). The scheduled time for that leg is 17 hours and 30 minutes.
The route adds 200 miles to the record Emirates established last year by virtue of Doha’s location further west than Dubai. Singapore Airlines Ltd.’s planned resumption of direct flights from its home hub to New York in 2018 would comfortably beat both services, with a distance of more than 9,500 miles.
Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker, who traveled on board the inaugural flight, said the new Auckland service was “an important milestone” in the airline’s global expansion.
Previous record was held by Gulf rival Emirates. Its Dubai to Auckland service is now the world’s second longest at 8,823 miles.
